Our History
Caruso Audio Video's parent company, Caruso Music, Inc., is a second-generation family owned and operated business celebrating eight decades of serving a local and worldwide customer base.
Caruso Music was founded in 1929 in central Pennsylvania by a 17-year-old aspiring musician named John Caruso. As John's business expanded from a small accordion studio to a broad-based music retailer, he moved his family gradually eastward, first to New York City, then to southest Connecticut.
By the time Caruso Music arrived in its current home town of New London in 1963, John had already established a thriving commercial audio business. John retired in 1978 and his two youngest sons, Larry and Richard, took over the business after six years under his guidance. Larry and Richard continue to be responsible for the day-to-day operation of all facets of the business.
Under Larry and Richard's guidance, Caruso Audio-Video has gradually expanded from an arm of their retail store to a full-fledged professional audiovisual integrator, capable of serving customers in every step of the process, from consultation and design to installation and service.
